With two weeks until International Star Wars Day, the force is strong with LEGO’s latest announcement, a new LEGO Star Wars construction set dedicated to everyone’s favourite droid (sorry C-3PO and BB-8), R2-D2.
Launched to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm, the stunning 2,315 piece set is likely to be top of any LEGO Star Wars fans to-buy list and with a piece number that big, the detail on the model is set to be incredible even compared to previous similar releases.

In 2021, Lucasfilm is celebrating half a century of storytelling with a range of commemorative, fan-favourite 50th anniversary Star Wars products, including this new model. Commenting on the new set, Jens Kronvold Frederiksen, Creative Lead of LEGO Star Wars at the LEGO Group said:
