LEGO Star Wars has a history of pushing the boundaries and setting the bar pretty high and the last time that LEGO made an announcement like this they brought us the largest set ever released, the UCS Falcon. That 7000+ piece monster was a roaring success, and now they’re doing it again, but this time turning to the Dark Side of the Force.
LEGO has today announced the latest set in the Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series – The LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (based on the classic Star Destroyer first seen in the opening moments of Episode IV: A New Hope).
The Imperial Star Destroyer set measures 110cm long and is comprised of 4,784 bricks. The new addition to the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) brings to life the fan favourite vessel of the Galactic Empire in LEGO brick form like never before. The set comes complete with a buildable Tantive IV ship, allowing fans to recreate the iconic opening scene from Star Wars: A New Hope in their own home.
Nicknamed the Devastator, it includes:
- Swivelling guns
- Stilting radar dish
- Huge engine exhausts
- Intricate surface detailing along its 110cm-long surface.
The set comes complete with two brand new minifigures – the Imperial Officer and Imperial Crew Member minfigures, making it the perfect LEGO Star Wars collectable for discerning fans.
To mark the launch of the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer, the LEGO Group will be offering Double Points on its LEGO VIP Members during the LEGO VIP Early Access period from Wednesday 18th- Sunday 22nd September 2019.
In addition, UK LEGO VIP members can purchase the set 4 days early on Sunday 15th September at the LEGO Store Leicester Square and will also be able to claim double VIP Points, as well as get the set signed at the designer signing event.
