Everything is awesome….again!
Having recently released a poster featuring the official logo for the highly anticipated sequel to 2014’s The LEGO Movie, dubbed ‘The Second Part’, Warner Bros. has now treated fans of the bricked adventure to a teaser trailer and a new other-worldly poster.
Set five years after the events of Taco Tuesday and Bricksberg has descended into a dystopian wasteland looking very much like a scene from Mad Max. When the majority of the team from the first movie are captured by a mysterious LEGO Friends-looking alien invader, it’s up to Emmett (and Plantie) to save the gang.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.
Starring Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Channing Tatum, Will Arnett, Jonah Hill, Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and Arturo Castro, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part lands on February 8, 2019.
