LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Features ‘Around’ 300 Playable Characters and 28 Unique Locations

It’s been ages since we heard anything about TT Games’ next big release, and possibly the most anticipated in their LEGO games history, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, but now we have some new titbits to share.

Having been delayed until this spring, details about the game have been quite rare in recent months, but during a recent interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine , Lead hub designer, Dawn McDiarmid, confirmed a few of the features that we can expect.

In addition to highlighting that the delay had allowed the team to further “polish and refine the systems and features that needed that extra little bit of love”, McDiarmid gave us an idea of just how big this game is compared to its predecessors:

“There were around 300 playable characters made for this game but altogether about 800 unique characters were made. Our character team did a truly amazing job.”

THREE HUNDRED PLAYABLE CHARACTERS, that’s impressive even by TT’s more recent releases with both LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 and LEGO DC Super-villains barely creeping above half that. What we don’t know yet is how many of those playable characters will be in the form of DLC releases.

In addition to the character roster size, McDiarmid went on to confirm the open-world hub situation, and by the sounds of it we’re getting something similar to the Force Awakens game where the player can visit multiple planets…but far bigger.

“There are 23 planets/moons with 28 unique locations that the player can visit, each full of quests, challenges, items, and characters to find. If you have a favourite Star Wars location it’s pretty likely you can visit it in-game.”

Book out a big block of time to 100% this game completionists, because it sounds like there’s going to be plenty of content to enjoy from a galaxy far, far away.
